About the
routes
The hikes take participants through two of the most beautiful nature reserves in North Limburg: the Jaomerdal and the Steilrand.
The Jaomerdal was created by the excavation of clay for the tile industry in the 18th and 19th centuries. It is now a very varied area where, among other things, kingfishers breed.
The Steilrand is the edge of the Meuse valley, where the landscape suddenly rises 10-20 meters. The Steilrand also partly coincides with the border with Germany. The area is largely forested. The Pieterpad partly follows the same route.
